Ocean Forecasting Australian Model (v. 3.0) Products

Updated: 2019-05-17

Data here are from an OFAM (Ocean Forecasting Australian Model) spinup experiment simulating recent decades of near-global, with a 10-km resolution (eddy-resolving) ocean general circulation model coupled with biogeochemistry. The model produces realistic variability of sea level, surface temperature and chlorophyll a, and model circulation is realistic in most aspects. Model output is suitable for broader analysis to better understand upper ocean dynamics and ocean variability at mid- and low latitudes. Spinup experiments are forced with historical atmospheric reanalysis products to reproduce recent ocean conditions, but without data assimilation used in BRAN experiments that are also available on NCI Geonetwork.
