IMOS - Satellite Remote Sensing - Surface Waves Sub-Facility - CFOSAT - scatterometer wave

This database contains global daily wave observations from the Surface Wave Investigation and Monitoring (SWIM) wave scatterometer instrument onboard the China-France Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT), aggregated into 1° by 1° geographical bins. Specifically, the dataset includes SWIM Level-2 standard wave parameters derived from the 10° incidence-angle beam, wave products calibrated against in-situ wave buoy observations, improved mean wave period estimates, and collocated wave hindcast model outputs. The data have been homogenised into a consistent and easily usable format. This is a trial dataset, and its calibration and validation is an area of current active research.
