ACCESS-OM2 1 degree repeat-year forcing simulations
Updated: 2019-05-17
ACCESS-OM2 1 degree ocean model output data for the Consortium for Ocean-Sea Ice Modelling in Australia (COSIMA). ACCESS is the Australian community climate model. ACCESS-OM2 is the moniker used to describe the suite of ACCESS Ocean Models, as well as to specifically refer to the default 1° model version. ACCESS-OM2 is comprised of MOM5.1, with the CICE5 sea ice model and OASIS-MCT coupling. It is designed to be consistent with the full coupled version of ACCESS (ACCESS-CM2). The model lateral resolution is 1° at the Equator, with a tripolar grid in the north and Mercator projection down to 65°S. It has 50 vertical levels. The model is configured to run with both the CORE and JRA55-do forcing datasets. This dataset is comprised of six experiments: 1. a reference spinup simulation using the Repeat Year Forcing strategy from years 1984-85 (known as RYF8485); 2. a reference spinup simulation using the Repeat Year Forcing strategy from years 1990-91 (known as RYF9091); 3. a reference spinup simulation using the Repeat Year Forcing strategy from years 2003-04 (known as RYF0304); 4. a perturbation simulation with simulated climate change forcing based on the RCP45 scenario and RYF8485; 5. a perturbation simulation with simulated climate change forcing based on the RCP45 scenario and RYF9091, and 6. a perturbation simulation with simulated climate change forcing based on the RCP45 scenario and RYF0304.
